Voter turnout low for mayor’s race

Voter turnout for the April 6 mayoral election was relatively low, as less than 30 percent of voters in the city hit the polls, according to unofficial results from the La. Secretary of State’s Office (SOS).

Overall voter turnout for the Jennings mayoral election landed at around only 28.2 percent, or 1,814 votes, according to SOS. As of March 1, SOS listed 6,423 voters registered in Jennings.
