Barbara Faye Beal
The family and friends of Barbara Faye Beal are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on Sunday, May 5, 2013, while in the comfort of her home surrounded by her beloved family. She was 75 years old.
Funeral services will be held in honor of her life on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at 2 p.m. Barbara will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery following her services. Rev. Gerald Doggett will officiate.
Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 4:30-8 p.m. and will resume on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at 12 p.m. until the time of her funeral services.
Barbara Faye was born in Bay City, Texas, to the late Clyde Hickey and the late Faye Wyatt Hickey on Sept. 30, 1937. She worked as a secretary for American Bank for many years until her retirement. She was also a Bible study member. She enjoyed shopping, decorating and hand crafts.
Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 29 years, Larry Beal of Lafayette; her two sons, Bobby Waltrip and Ricky Waltrip, both of Jennings; one stepson, Edward (Melissa) Beal of Baton Rouge; two stepdaughters, Diana Dobbs of Baton Rouge, and Rhee Fisher of Lake Charles; her two sisters, Doris (Rev. Gerald) Doggett of Orlando, Fla., and Sue Keeth of Convinton; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; and the daughter of the late Randy Waltrip, Erika Rutherford of Jennings.
Barbara now rest in Heaven with her beloved family who preceded her in death: her parents, Clyde and Faye W. Hickey; her son, Randy Waltrip; one daughter, Mechelle Waltrip; and one brother, James Hickey.
Carrying Barbara to her eternal resting place in Greenwood Cemetery will be Ricky, Bobby, Jeremy and Justin Waltrip, Charles Rutherford and Ed Beal.
