Funeral services for Deacon Earnest Lee “Mott” Robinson, 87,  will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, in Antioch Baptist Church. Rev. Michael Williams, pastor will officiate. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Lake Arthur.

Full military rites will be accorded by the La. National Guard from New Orleans, under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings.

Visitation will be in the church from 8 a.m. until time of funeral services. A military prayer service will be rendered at the church at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, by the American Legion Post No. 19 squad of Jennings.

Deacon Earnest Lee Robinson was called by God from labor to his heavenly reward on Thursday, April 25, 2013, in Jennings American Legion Hospital.

He was a native of New Iberia and a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur, an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army. He attended Jeff Davis Vocational School, where he received a certificate in auto mechanics. He was a self-employed auto mechanic, a deputy sheriff for 13 years, a member of Antioch Baptist Church for over 60 years, a deacon for over 50 years, and chairman of deacon ministry over 40 years. He was a member of the male chorus  and president and director of senior choir.

His memory and legacy will forever be cherished by his wife of 64 years, Ora Lene Daniel  Robinson; three sons and four daughters, Calvin Lee (Mable) Robinson of San Antonio, Texas, Carolyn (Edmond) Charles of Lake Arthur, Sandra (Kenneth) Milton of San Antonio, Texas, Phyllis (Lee James) Robinson, Vanessa (Earles) Chaney, both of Lake Arthur, Sandra (Kenneth) Milton of Houston, Texas, Ivory (Monica) Robinson of Gueydan, and Auldon Lee (Trena) Robinson of Lake Arthur; three brothers and one sister, Raymond (Yvonne) Robinson, Nathan Joe (Vie) Robinson, Paul (JoAnn) Robinson and Norma Jean (Vance) Johnson, all of Houston, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
