Gerald F. LeBlanc
MIDLAND – After a courageous battle with salivary cancer, Gerald F. LeBlanc passed peacefully away at the age of 70 in his home in Midland on Thursday, May 30, 2013.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2013, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Estherwood. Msgr. Paul Metrejean will be officiating for the services.
Visitation will be held at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home on Sunday, June 2, 2013, from 2-8 p.m. and will continue on Monday, June 3, 2013, from 8 a.m. until the time of his services. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Sunday. Finally, he will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Mausoleum in Crowley.
Mr. LeBlanc was born in Crowley to the late Hilliard LeBlanc Sr. and Louise Vincent LeBlanc of Midland. He was a successful self-employed investment manager. His accomplishments in the financial world were based on his favorite saying, “Work, Earn and SAVE.” He also eagerly anticipated the duck hunting season, but his family was always his first priority. Gerald will always be remembered for his generous, kind and humble spirit.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary LeBlanc (Russell) Richard; along with grandchildren, Christian and Garrett Richard of Lafayette. He also leaves his brother, Hilliard (Peggy) LeBlanc Jr. of Midland; his nephews, Jeff LeBlanc and Logan LeBlanc of Lafayette; his cousins, Dr. Bennett Fontenot, DDS, of Lafayette, and Myrlene Miller of Pennsylvania; and his caregiver of 26 years, Vickie Benoit of Midland.
