LA to focus tax collections on street repairs

LAKE ARTHUR – The town council here unanimously approved an ordinance that would change the disbursement allotments of the town’s sales tax fund to focus on street projects.

The ordinance would change the allotment of sales tax revenues going towards street repairs from 62 percent to 80 percent, while the allotment for water would be decreased from 35 to 17 percent.
