Mrs. Elwin (Juanita) DeRouen
LAKE ARTHUR – A Mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Elwin (Juanita) DeRouen, 89, will be held Friday, May 3, 2013, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating.
Burial will be in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur.
Visitation will begin today, Thursday, May 2, 2013, from 2:30-10 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday, May 3, 2013, from 8 a.m. until time of services.
Mrs. DeRouen died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at 9:05 a.m. in Camelot Brookside Nursing Home.
She was a native of Creole and lifelong resident of Lake Arthur. Mrs. DeRouen was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, VFW Auxiliary and Jean Lafitte Camping Club. She loved her family and spending time outside in her garden.
Mrs. DeRouen is survived by her husband, Elwin DeRouen of Lake Arthur; two sons, Wilton (Linda) DeRouen of Lake Arthur, and Ron (Mona) DeRouen of Lake Arthur; and a daughter, Jackie DeRouen of Lake Arthur; 13 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Levia Joseph and Adaline LeBouef Trahan; and three brothers, Dudley, Shirley and Bernard Trahan.
