Shirley Marie Francis Batiste
A Mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Shirley Marie Francis Batiste, 65, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Father Celsius Offor will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings.
Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday in the church until time of funeral services.
Mrs. Batiste entered into eternal rest at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, in a local hospital.
She was a native of Roanoke and lived in Jennings most of her life. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her departure four daughters and two sons, Jena Brown of Oceanside, Calif., Danyelle Moore, Tracy (Wilton Ason) Baptiste, both of Jennings, Lisa Batiste of Lake Charles, Leroy John (Tiffany Berry) Batiste Jr. and George Batiste, both of Jennings; three sisters, Viola Jean Willis of Pomona, Calif., Mary Beck Jones of Inglewood, Calif., and Bennette Ruth (Michael) Freeman of Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, Lee Cary (Audrey) Francis of Houston, Texas, and Ruffner (Gwendolyn) Francis of Rontoul, Ill.,; 11 grandchildren,; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
