Walter Lee Comeaux
Walter Lee Comeaux, 86, of Lake Charles, died at 2:36 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, in a local hospital.
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at St. Henry Catholic Church. Reverend D. B. Thompson will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home today, Thursday, May 2, 2013, from 4-9 p.m. with a Cursillo Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, May 3, 2013, from 8-9:30 a.m.
Mr. Comeaux was born Dec. 15, 1926, in Acadia Parish and lived in Lake Charles since 1959. He worked in the oilfield industry in Colorado, Texas, and Southeast Louisiana, and retired from Macabar, where he worked as the manager for a number of years. He was a past member of Christ the King Catholic Church, where he helped start their Catechism program. He also was a past member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and attended St. Henry Catholic Church for the past seven years. Mr. Comeaux was active in the church and was a speaker at the Cursillo. He was a member of the Cajun French Music Association (CFMA). He enjoyed dancing and going to the Singles Club, golfing, and gardening.
Mr. Comeaux is survived by his wife of seven years, Shirley Trahan Comeaux; a brother, Luther Comeaux of Jennings; a stepson, Kevin (Jennifer) Trahan of Welsh; and a grandson, Christopher Trahan of Lake Charles.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 54 years, Rosa B. Comeaux; a son, Terry James Comeaux; his parents, Paul and Stella Fontenot Comeaux; and brothers, Warren Paul and Harvey Lloyd Comeaux.
