Jeff Davis Parish (JDP) certified teachers could see stipends of $500-$700 a piece.

Superintendent-elect Brian Lejeune said at a recent meeting that JDP will received about $800,000 from $69 million in education funding approved by the state. Lejeune said the board is required to give half the money to certified public school teachers as a pay increase but it will be up to the board on where to invest the other $400,000.
