Viola Cormier LeGros
The family and friends of Viola Cormier LeGros are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on June 22, 2013, while at a local hospital at the age of 88.
Funeral services were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings today, Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at 2 p.m. Mrs. Viola was laid to eternal rest in Andrus Cove Cemetery. Pastor Patrick Deshotel officiated her services.
Visitation was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home on Monday, June 24, 2013, from 3:30-9 p.m. and resumed today, Tuesday, at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral services at 2 p.m.
Viola was born in Jennings to the late Armand Cormier and the late Amanda Hanks Cormier on Dec. 13, 1924. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family whom she loved so dearly. Viola enjoyed cooking, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends.
Viola is survived by one son, Roland James (Nella Cormier) LeGros of Gueydan; her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Harold Comeaux of Welsh; one brother, Charles Cormier of Jennings; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Viola now rests in Heaven with her beloved family who preceded her in death: her parents, Armand and Amanda H. Cormier; her husband, Leon Joseph LeGros; a daughter, Cecile M. Eubanks; one son, Darrel “Boo” LeGros; two brothers; and three sisters.
Carrying Mrs. Viola to her eternal resting place in Andrus Cove Cemetery were Keith Comeaux, Ken Comeaux, Roland LeGros Jr., Shonie LeGros, Joshus LeGros and Kennon Comeaux. Honorary pallbearer was Hunter LeGros.
