Agnes M. Granger Guidry

ELTON – Funeral services for Agnes M. Granger Guidry, 75, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Elton. Rev. Marshall Boulet will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton beginning today, Friday, July 26, 2013, from 12-9 p.m. A rosary will be recited tonight at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, July 27, 2013, from 8 a.m. until time of services.
Agnes was a resident of Elton. As a homemaker, she was devoted to her four daughters and was a loving wife of 58 years, having actually passed away on what would have been her 58th wedding anniversary. She loved cooking and baking, crocheting, knitting, quilting and sewing as well as making different types of crafts. Agnes will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.
Left to mourn her loss are her three daughters, Mary Person and husband, Mark, Margaret Benoit and husband, Junior, all of Jennings, and Patricia Schexnider and husband, Ray, of Lacassine; two brothers, Paul Granger and wife, Elaine, of Sulphur, and Joseph Granger and wife, Judy, of Pine Island; three sisters, Lena Mae Trahan of Lacassine, Anna Mae Pickett and husband, Henry, of Elton, and Gladys Gary and husband, Billy, of Hathaway; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Guidry; her parents, Felicia and Gladu Granger; one brother, Dudley Granger Sr; two sisters, Lucille Pickett and Sedonia Deshotel; one daughter, Ethel Benoit; one son-in-law, Anitius Felix Benoit Sr; and one great-grandchild, Dakota LeBert.
