Golda Couch Ardoin
The family and friends of Golda Couch Ardoin are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life and entered into Heaven on July 18, 2013, at the age of 61.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held to celebrate Golda’s life at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lacassine on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 10 a.m. She will be laid to eternal rest in Lacassine Cemetery following her services. Father Roland Vaughan will officiate.
A gathering of Golda’s family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings today Friday, July 19, 2013, from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visiting hours will resume on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral mass at 10 a.m.
Golda was born in Baton Rouge to Betty Jean Harper Burnett and the late Billy McDowell Couch on Feb. 13, 1952. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to taking care of her beloved husband, Kenneth, and raising their five children. Golda enjoyed the outdoors especially when she got to go fishing and hunting with her husband. One of her favorite sports was deer hunting. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. Golda will always be loved and remembered by all who have touched her life.
Golda is survived by her mother, Betty Jean H. Couch; one son, Shane J. (Darla) LaPoint of Iowa; her four daughters, Hope Marie (Chad) Bebee of Bundick’s Lake, Barbara Shanney LaPoint (fiancé, Brian King) of Reeves, Summer Ardoin (fiancé, Phil Daigle) of Crowley, and Dustie Ardoin of Loganville, Ga.; and her 13 beautiful grandchildren. Golda also leaves behind to cherish her memories three brothers, George Couch of Utah, Leamon Glenn (Mandy) Burnett of Bundick’s Lake, and David Allen Burnett of Church Hill, Tenn.; and her four sisters, Wanda Jean Couch of New Iberia, Tamora Hicks of Roanoke, Jeri Ann Burnett of Las Vegas, and Teri Ann Burnett of Reeves.
Golda was preceded in death by her father, Billy McDowell Couch; her husband, Kenneth Paul Ardoin; and a brother, Billy Mark Couch.
Carrying Golda to her eternal resting place in Lacassine Cemetery will be Triston Bebee, Brian Schluckbier and Brian King. Honorary pallbearer will be Richard Cormier.
