JASPER, Texas – Memorial services for Lawrence “Bruce” Broussard, 85, were held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Rayburn Baptist Church.
A native of Jennings and longtime resident of the Lake Sam Rayburn Community, Bruce was a member of The Telephone Pioneers & The VFW.
A graduate of Jennings High School, he served with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked for 32 years in the telecommunication industry before retiring as a technician and union representative with Bell South.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he was a great guy that everyone loved. He liked camping.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce Broussard of Jasper, Texas; his sons, Dale (Vicki) Broussard of Biloxi, Miss., Kyle (Colleen) Broussard of Jennings; a daughter, Cindy Credeur of Brookeland, Texas; a brother, Russell (Bonnie) Broussard of Lafayette; a sister Vivian (E.L.) Louviere of Welsh; five grandchildren, Scott (Kim) Credeur, Kris (Annick) Credeur, Ryan Broussard, Jodi (Kenny) Coker, Mindy (Russell) Fuller; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
