LAKE ARTHUR – Funeral services for Mr. Robert Darrel Conner, 81, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2013, in Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Arthur with Mr. Doug Broyles officiating.
Burial will be in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur.
Mr. Conner died Thursday, July 25, 2013, at 12:41 p.m. at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.
Visitation will begin today, Sunday, July 28, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday, July 29, 2013, from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
Mr. Conner was a native of Lake Arthur, worked as a boat captain for Superior Oil Co., and lived his last 25 years in Toledo Bend. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. Robert loved to barbecue, garden, hunt, shrimp, play with his labradors and spend time with his family.
Mr. Conner is survived by his wife of 35 years, Deanna Conner of Many; a daughter, Nadine (James Dam) Conner of Many; six sons, Wade Conner of Orange, Texas, Darrel (Veronica) Conner of Florine, Edward Conner, Zackery Conner and Willard Conner Jr., all of Many, and Spencer Conner of Jennings; three sisters, Lois Stroh of Lake Charles, Stella Thompson of Alvin, Texas, and Mildred Ryder of Lake Arthur; a brother, John Conner of Baton Rouge; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ola Trahan Conner; a son, Willard Conner Sr.; a sister, Clara May Conner; and six brothers, Lionis, Charlie, Desira, Willard, Clarence and Burnis Conner.
