Summer months put strain on blood supply

Blood donations have dropped significantly within the past couple of weeks, inciting a critical level, indicating the blood bank holds approximately a two-day supply of all blood types.

Dana Dupin of Lifeshare Blood Centers explained, “We draw about 30 percent of our stock from high school students and faculty. During the summer months, these groups are not collectively together, so it’s more difficult for them to donate.”
