Belt family receives overdue vacation

The Make a Wish Foundation is presenting a special family with a long overdue vacation on Sunday, and the general public is invited to attend the announcement.

Eight months ago, Josh and Lindsey Belt of Jennings learned that their 3-year-old son, Joel, has an extremely rare and life-threatening disease called Pulmonary Hypertension (PH). PH causes high blood pressure in the lungs’ arteries, making it harder for the blood to flow through the lungs to pick up oxygen. There is no cure for the disease, which is why the Belt family is not only hosting an event to raise awareness, but also to fund research for a cure.
