Mildred Guidry Dupont
Family and friends are mourning the loss of their loved one, Mildred Guidry Dupont. Mrs. Mildred was called to her Heavenly Father on Aug. 16, 2013, at the Jeff Davis Living Center at the age of 93.
Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at 10 a.m. honoring her life. Mrs. Mildred will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery. Father Charles McMillin will be officiating her funeral services.
Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings today, Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, from 3:30-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday at 8 a.m. until the time of her services.
Mrs. Mildred was born in Morse on July 15, 1920, to the late Deluke Guidry and the late Pauline Broussard Guidry. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. Mrs. Mildred was known by those who loved her as “Maggie Mama”. She enjoyed visiting and was a loving wife, mother, aunt and friend. She loved the outdoors and camping was her favorite.
Mrs. Mildred is survived by one son, Lloyd James “Jim” Dupont of Jennings; her two special nieces that cared for her, Susan and Valerie Deaville, both of Jennings; and numerous nieces and nephews. She had two beautiful grandchildren whom she treasured with all her heart, Amanda Bertrand and Kayla Dupont.
Mrs. Mildred now rests in Heaven with her beloved family who preceded her in death: her parents, Deluke and Pauline Broussard Guidry; her husband, Whitney Dupont; her brothers, Edward, Roy, Clarence and August Guidry; and two sisters, Leona Guidry and Ida Guidry.
