Nancy Kratzer Louviere
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Nancy Kratzer Louviere announces her passing from this life and into the arms of Jesus on Aug. 8, 2013, at the age of 72.
Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at 2 p.m. Rev. Bert Borel will officiate. Nancy will be laid to rest in Doucet Cemetery.
Nancy was born in Jennings to the late Nelson Joseph Kratzer and the late Lelia Broussard Kratzer on Oct. 20, 1940. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She enjoyed playing bingo, reading, dancing, and loved to cook.
A gathering of Nancy’s family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home today, Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, from 2:30-10 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, Aug. 10, at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral services.
Nancy is survived by her three sons, Bobby (Kim Mier) Louviere Jr. of Gueydan, Calvin James Doucet Sr. of Duson, and Robert Dale Doucet of Estherwood; her four daughters, Rebecca Vincent of Lafayette, Buffy (Richard) Suire of Kaplan, Shirley (Marty Bonin) Guillory of Gueydan, and Tina Guidry of Kaplan; one brother, Charles (Cynthia) Kratzer of Jennings; two sisters, Amie Kratzer of Lake Arthur, and Lorrain Dupre of Kaplan; 20 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Lelia B. Kratzer; her husband, Bobby Ray Louviere Sr.; and one son, Joshua John Louviere.
Carrying Nancy to her eternal resting place in Doucet Cemetery will be Kylon Louviere, Calvin James Doucet Jr., Derrick Ray Alleman, Dillon John Louviere Sr., Steven LeJeune and Joseph Breaux.
Honorary pallbearers will include Brent Guidry, Scotty Guillory, August Guillory, Beba Louviere and Dustin Quebodeaux.
