Welsh adopts ‘vicious dog’ ordinance
By SHEILA SMITH
WELSH – Pit bulls are no longer outlawed here but the town has amended ordinances to ensure officials can step in when any type of dog displays vicious characteristics.
The breed was originally banned from the town in 2002 with an ordinance that specifically targeted pit breeds such as the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire, American Pit Bull and those with “the appearance and characteristics of being predominately” of those breeds
