Wild cat population causing problems

WELSH – Now that officials here have revamped an ordinance that addresses the issue of vicious dogs, they are hoping to find a way to control a growing population of loose cats running through the town.

At a Tuesday meeting, Alderman Allen Ardoin noted that residents have complained that the homeless cats have become a big problem. In fact, he said, the town recently removed about 20 cats from one abandoned property but more have arrived.
