Allie Roy Trahan
The family and friends of Allie Roy Trahan are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life and embraced in the arms of Jesus on Sept. 21, 2013, at the age of 82.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held in honor of Allie’s life at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jennings on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. Allie will be laid to eternal rest in Bertrand Cemetery, where he will be honored with full military rites. Father Charles McMillin will officiate.
Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings today, Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, from 4-9 p.m. with a rosary recited by Deacon Mike Tramel at 7 p.m. Visiting hours will resume on Monday at 9 a.m. until the time of his funeral Mass at 2 p.m.
Allie Roy was born in Hathaway to the late Placide Trahan and the late Philloman Babineaux Trahan on March 11, 1931. Allie was a Korean War Veteran and carpenter by trade. He was a life member of the Jennings VFW Post 3686. He was a loving husband of almost 50 years to Lillie, as well as a dedicated and loving father and grandfather. Allie loved playing cards, listening to French music, fishing, hunting, camping and cooking outdoors.
Allie is survived by his beloved wife, Lillie Mae McClelland Trahan of Jennings; their son, Kirk Dale (Karen) Trahan of Hathaway; a daughter, Anita Rose Trahan of Jennings; five grandchildren, Amberly (Aaron) Cooper, Chet Trahan, Tara Trahan, Briana Fontenot and Paige Fontenot; and two great-grandchildren, Alayna Cooper and Jace Cooper. Allie also leaves behind to cherish his memories two of his siblings, Anna Chaisson and Elroy Trahan.
Allie now rests in Heaven with his parents, Placide and Philloman B. Trahan; one son, Kenneth Wayne Trahan; and a brother, Henry Trahan.
Carrying Allie to his eternal resting place in Bertrand Cemetery will be Elroy Trahan, Chet Trahan, Lamual Trahan Jr., Randall McClelland, Jerry Ryder and Thomas Chaisson.
