The 2013 Jeff Davis Cattlemen Association sale and fundraiser at the Kinder Livestock Auction Monday had the biggest turnout since 2006 with approximately 2,100 head of cattle being brought in from around the parish, according to Livestock owner and operator Donny Perkins.
Each year, Perkins and his business partner, Giles Brown, host a sale in which one percent of all proceeds goes toward the Jeff Davis Cattlemen’s Association. The Cattlemen’s Association in turn uses the money to sponsor youth events, including livestock shows and grazing programs, according to Association President, Chad Wood. For the complete story and more local news, please subscribe to Jennings Daily News by clicking subscribe or by calling 337-824-3011.
