Dogs hope to score when it counts

The Bulldogs failed to score last Friday when they fell to Breaux Bridge, 12-0, during the Kiwanis Club Jamboree in Lafayette. But despite not getting much offense going in that game, Jennings Head Coach Rusty Phelps said a shutout during a scrimmage doesn’t count when the team takes the field tonight against St. Martinville.

“We looked at last week’s scrimmage as a teaching tool,” said Phelps as an excited Bulldog squad prepares to hit the road tonight for their first official contest of the season. “We know where we need to get better and what we need to work on. (The scrimmage) doesn’t count and we are starting this week with a clean slate.”
