Linda Marie Ransom Beitel
The family and friends of Linda Marie Ransom Beitel are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on September 3, 2013, at the age of 71.
Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings, on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at 1 p.m. Linda will be laid to eternal rest in Calvary Cemetery. The Very Rev. Anthony Fontenot will officiate her services.
A gathering of Linda’s family and friends to bid their final farewell will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, from 10 a.m. until the time of her funeral services at 1 p.m.
Linda Marie was born in Lake Arthur to the late Rubin L. Ransom Sr. and the late Anna Rose Bertrand Ransom on May 9, 1942. She was a school teacher in Acadia Parish for many years. She loved teaching our young people to strive for a great future. Linda also was a nun for seven years with Oliveton Benedicine Order. Her spiritual name was Sister Lillian. She truly loved her religion and prayed the cursillo rosary. She also enjoyed playing the panio and sewing.
Linda is survived by her son, Paul Beitel of Jennings; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Angelle Beitel, Damian, Dominique, Destiny, Donavon and Dathan Beitel, and Josh Miller; and her nine great-grandchildren. Linda also leaves behind to cherish her memories one brother, Michael Ransom of Cazenolia, New York; a sister, Rose Marie Sonnier of Lake Arthur; and two godchildren, Amy Bertrand and Dustin Sonnier.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Rubin Sr. and Anna Rose B. Ransom; a daughter, Robin Beitel; and two of her brothers, Albert Joseph Ransom and Ruben “Buster” Ransom Jr.
