Rena Mae Doucet
It is with great sadness that the family of Rena Mae Mosbrooker Doucet announces her passing from this life on Sept. 19, 2013, at the age of 79.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at 10 a.m. She will be laid to eternal rest in Miller Cemetery. Father Charles McMillin will officiate.
A gathering of Mrs. Rena’s family and friends to bid their final farewell will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings today, Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, from 3-9 p.m. with a Cursillo Rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visiting hours will resume on Monday at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral mass at 10 a.m.
Rena Mae was born in Jennings to the late Carlton Mosbrooker and the late Anita Deshotels Mosbrooker on Feb. 21, 1934. She worked as a cafeteria manager for many years until her retirement. She loved baking and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Rena is survived by her three children, Mervin L. (Lisa) Doucet of Alexandria, Linda (Hoss) Brantley of Lake Charles, and Brenda (Greg) Presnull of Jennings; her five grandchildren, Kelli Duhon, Corey (Meghan) Burgin, Brittany Presnull, Dustin Presnull and Ben Doucet; and her four great-grandchildren, Kolby, Camryn, Carley Duhon and Maleah Presnull.
Mrs. Rena now rests in Heaven with her beloved family who preceded her in death: her parents, Carlton and Anita D. Mosbrooker; her husband, Mervin Paul Doucet; and a granddaughter, Emma Dillehay.
Carrying Mrs. Rena to her eternal resting place in Miller Cemetery will be Mervin L. Doucet, Ben Doucet, Dustin Presnull, Greg Presnull, Hoss Brantley and Corey Burgin. The honorary pallbearer will be Kolby Duhon.
