Boys and Girls Club consider local campus

Jeff Davis Police Juror Milford Reed Jr. is leading a campaign to start a Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA) in the old James Ward Elementary and is calling on the community to help with the project.

“This is a facility that has so much potential for our young people but to go through with the project the community needs to help maintain the facility,” he said. “To receive the grant money, we need for people to stop vandalizing the building, breaking glass, and stealing the copper lines. We can make the old school a positive and safe place for our young people if we step up and help pave the way for this organization’s establishment.”
