City applies for street funds

By SHEILA SMITH

Five streets on the southern side of the city could be upgraded if Jennings receives Louisiana Community Development Block Grant (LCDBG) Public Facility Project funds.

The grant, which Mayor Terry Duhon said is aimed to improve low-to-moderate income areas, could possibly bring in $150,000-$600,000 to the city. The streets that would receive asphalt overlay if funds are provided include East Willis, East Spencer, Renshaw, Mulkern and West Plaquemine, starting at La. 26 until the end of that street.
