Hilda Broussard Menard Theriot
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur to celebrate Mrs. Hilda’s life on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at 10:30 am. with Father Charles McMillin officiating her services.
Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 3-9 p.m with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visiting hours will resume on Friday, Oct. 11 at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral services.
She was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur, born to Eupheon Broussard and Eva Conner Broussard on Sept. 29, 1917. She was a former dietician. After her retirement, Mrs. Hilda spent her later years spending time with her family and friends that she adored. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, the Ladies Altar Society, and the Catholic Daughters. She loved to cook, bake and play bingo. She was a very kind and loving person who will be truly missed by all who where blessed to have known her.
Mrs. Hilda is survived by one daughter, Linda (Gerald) Nolan of Denham Springs; two daughters-in-law, Lois Menard and Katherine Menard; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 12 great great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Eupheon and Eva C. Broussard; her first husband, Milton Menard Sr., and their three sons, Larry Menard, Wilfred “Fatty” Menard and Milton Menard Jr.; two grandchildren, Carlyos Menard and Jennifer Treadway; and a great-grandson, Aaron Richard. Mrs. Hilda also rests in Heaven with her second husband, Sypheron Theriot; a stepson, Milton Theriot; three brothers; and three sisters.
