Mary Benoit Deaville
The family and friends of Mary Benoit Deaville are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life and embraced in the arms of Jesus on Oct. 24, 2013, at the age of 92.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings on Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at 10 a.m. with Father Charles McMillin officiating her services. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
The Deaville family requests visiting hours be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings today, Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, from 4:30-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visiting hours will resume on Monday morning at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral mass at 10 a.m.
Mrs. Mary was born in Lake Arthur to Gabriel Benoit and Idolie Trahan Benoit on Oct. 11, 1921. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She also was a CCD teacher for 10 years. Mrs. Mary lived each day to the fullest to love and care for her family. Her presence in all of their lives will never be forgotten. She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church and her devotion to God serves as a comfort to her family, knowing that she is safe and happy with him in Heaven.
Mrs. Mary is survived by her four sons, Carl R. (Susan) Deaville of Las Vegas, Nev., Donald P. (Marsha) Deaville of Houston, Texas, Patrick (Kathlene) Deaville of Lake Charles, and Keith G. (Pam) Deaville of Covington; one sister, Pearl Sonnier of Sulphur; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Deaville; her parents, Gabriel and Idolie T. Benoit; a brother, John Henry Benoit; and five sisters, Zilda Guidry, Nedia Trahan, Gladys B. Guidry, Joyce Lou Theriot and Olivia Trahan.
