Rolling Down Main Street

The annual Jeff Davis Parish Fair Parade made its way down Main Street in Jennings today, with participants vying for first and second place honors in a contest. The categories, winners and their prizes included: Best Float, Cub Scout Pack 59 of Jennings, first place ($225), and Camelot Nursing Home, second place ($115); Best Car, Bethel Athletes, first place ($75), and Hair Spray the Salon, second place ($40); Best Horseman, Cathy Meche of Jennings, first place ($50), and Brynn LeBlanc of Jennings, second place ($25); Best High School Band, Lake Arthur High, first place ($100), and Jennings High, second place ($50); Best High School Dance Team, Hathaway High Cheerleaders, first place ($50), and Jennings High Jazzers, second place ($25); Best Jr. High Dance Team, Jennings Junior High Cheerleaders, first place ($50), and Jennings Junior High Jazzers, second place ($25); Best Elementary Dance, JHS Mini Jazzers, first place ($50), and Jennings High Intermediate Jazzers, second place ($25); and in the Most Unique category, Kynadee Touchet of Lcassine won with her polka-dot painted horse, taking home $30.
