Taste n’ Tell aims for $35k goal

Assistant Editor

Local officials, businesses and individuals are stirring the pot to raise awareness about domestic violence issues in Jeff Davis Parish (JDP).

Tuesday night, Oct. 8, Communities Against Domestic Abuse (CADA) will host its annual Taste n’ Tell, a cooking fundraiser that benefits the organization and its women’s and children’s shelter, the Billie Sue Thomas Well. A number of teams have signed up to prepare their best entrees, side dishes or desserts that entice attendees, who pay $30 each to attend the event. As the night rolls on, attendees determine which dish is best by giving monetary donations to their preferred team. To top it all off, teams dress up in costumes or create a theme to go along with their dish.
