Anna Richard LaSage
Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at 10 a.m. honoring the life of Anna Richard LaSage, 80, who died on Nov. 26, 2013. She will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery with Reverend Paul Estes officiating her services.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Matthews and Son Funeral Home today, Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, from 2:30-9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 8 a.m. until the time of her services.
Anna was born in Evangeline to the late Xavier Richard and the late Mary Enola Gatte. She was retired from the Southwest Louisiana Developmental Center. Anna was a faithful member of the Christian Family Fellowship Church of Christ. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them all. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Anna is survived by one son, Harley “Choney” (Jaquetta) LaSage of Magnolia, Texas; and one daughter, Phyllis LaSage (Terry) Smith of Jennings; three sisters, Vivian Richard (Boyce) Laqua of Rock Port, Texas, Ora “Pee Wee” (Allen) Bergeaux of Jennings, and Wendy Sue (Wayne) Peterkin of Evangeline; 12 precious grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mervin Joseph LaSage; her parents, Xavier and Mary Gatte Richard; one son, Hardy LaSage; and one grandson, Luke LaSage.
Carrying Mrs. Anna to her final resting place will be Ty LaSage, Corey Leger, Allen Lopez, Scott O’Connell, Darren Smith and Jacob O’Connell.
