Antoine Laris Doucet Jr.
HAYES – It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Antoine Laris Doucet Jr. announces his passing from this life on Nov. 18, 2013, at the age of 58.
Funeral services will be held at the L & A Hall in Hayes today, Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Roger Trahan officiating. Burial will follow in the Hayes Cemetery.
Visitation was held at the Hayes Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, from 2 p.m. until the time of his funeral services today, Wednesday.
Antoine was born in Jennings to Wilfred Abshire and Emily Benoit on Sept. 5, 1955. He worked as a truck driver for Lyons Fliers. In his spare time, he loved being outdoors and going fishing.
Antoine is survived by his wife, Melissa Hollyfield Doucet of Hayes; his father, Wilfred Abshire, also of Hayes; six sons, Antoine Laris Doucet III of Florida, Cody Doucet of LeBleu, Nathan Doucet and Hunter Logan Doucet, both of Hayes, C.J. Deshotel of LeBleu, and Jonathon (Alexi) Deshotel of Sulphur; one daughter, Emily Hammond of Sulphur; a brother, Johnny Hammond of LeBleu; and his five sisters, Mary Jane Richard of Eunice, Marie Marlia of Oberlin, Theresa (Linus) Broussard of Midland, Margie (Tom) LaFosse of Welsh, and Cecile Burney of Bossier City.
Antoine was preceded in death by his mother, Emily Benoit Abshire; and a sister, Patricia Kistint.
Serving as pallbearers will be Randall Benoit, C.J. Deshotel, Jonathon Deshotel, Cody Doucet, Nathan Doucet and Hunter Doucet.
