Funeral services for Curley Simon, 94, will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, in St. Paul Baptist Church. Rev. Purnell Trent will officiate.
Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. in the church until time of services.
Masonic rites will be at 9:30 a.m. and military honors will follow at 11:15 a.m. by James O. Hall, Post 19 of the American Legion, at the church. Burial will be in Benovelent Cemetery with full military honors by a squad from Fort Polk Army division, under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.
Mr. Simon entered eternal rest on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, in a Lake Charles hospital.
He was a native of Freetown and lived in Jennings most of his life. He received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church and a Mason.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Hinks of Jennings, and Barbara Ann Coleman of San Francisco, Calif.; one sister, Selena Satchel of Richmond, Calif.; and one brother, Earl Simon of Opelousas; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
