Dogs hope for similar success in Ram rematch

Twelve is better than 11 and 13 is better than 12 – that’s the thinking of the Jennings Bulldogs and the Westlake Rams. The two teams will battle in game 12 of the season in the regional round of the playoffs and the right to advance to number 13 (the quarterfinals). The Dogs defeated the Jena Giants and the Rams beat Franklin last week to move on.

“Last week, we came out and gave up a touchdown early and then I think our kids settled in. We made some adjustments and I think our kids responded to the adjustments,” Head Dog Rusty Phelps said. “We raised our level of intensity and started making plays. The turnovers (three fumble recoveries early in the fourth quarter) created a lot of momentum for us.”
