Shelby Daniel Truax
EGAN – A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Egan for Shelby Daniel Truax, 92, who died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at 4:30 a.m. in Egan.
Mr. Truax was a native and lifelong resident of Egan. He retired from Conoco in Egan as a shift foreman after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Egan.
Fr. Jude Thierry, pastor of St. Michael, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours begin today, Sunday, Nov. 10 from 4-9 p.m. and resume on Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited today, Sunday, at 6 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Truax is survived by his wife of 70 years, Audrey Stanford Truax of Egan; three daughters, Glynda Truax (Mike) Thevis of Orange, Texas, Geralyn Truax (John) Pousson of Covington, Debbie Truax (Cecil) Hebert of Egan; one son, Roderick Stanford “Ricky” (Mary Jo) Truax of Sulphur; one sister, Pansy T. LeJeune of Egan; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and nine great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Shelby Jean Truax; his parents, Charles and Julie Anne Regan Truax; two great-grandsons, Jacob Craig Zaunbrecher and Rustin Roy Cassedy; a grandson-in-law, Stephen C. Voitier; and one brother, Willis Charles “Bill” Truax.
Pallbearers will be Craig Zaunbrecher, Bradley Zaunbrecher, Chad Thevis, Danny Thevis, Ricky Truax II, Chris Pousson, Coby Hebert and Andrew Hebert.
