Wava Theresa LeLeux
The family and friends of Wava Theresa LeLeux are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life and embraced in the arms of Jesus on Nov. 15, 2013, at the age of 84.
Funeral services to honor Wava’s life will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at 10 a.m. with Father Charles McMillin officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home today, Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, from 2:30-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visiting hours will resume on Monday at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral services.
Wava was born in Roanoke to William LeJeune and Alice Miller LeJeune on Feb. 9, 1929. She worked at Jennings American Legion Hospital for over 30 years as a CNA until completing her career in retirement. Wava loved rocking the babies at the hospital, reading and crossword puzzles. She was dearly loved not only by her family and friends but the many people she helped and worked alongside.
Wava is survived by her two sons, Jack LeLeux of Jennings, and Joseph “Benny” (Pat) Ferguson of Bush; one brother, Emery LeJeune of Jennings; two grandchildren, Tasha (Chad) Shuff and Harley (Kristy Reed) LeLeux; her two great-grandchildren, Laicen Shell and Hannah Shuff; and another great-grandbaby on the way named Emily May LeLeux.
Wava was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence “Bee” LeLeux; her parents, William and Alice M. LeJeune; and two sons, Howard “Billy” LeLeux and Douglas Scott LeLeux.
Serving as pallbearers will be Harley LeLeux, Curtis LeLeux, Joey Ferguson, Corey Ferguson, Chad Shuff and Mark LeJeune. Honorary pallbearer will be Camden Matherne.
