The latest installment of the Jennings City Council was officially sworn in Tuesday during the town’s monthly agenda meeting, with Carolyn K. Simon (District A), Johnny Armentor (District B), Trey Myers (District C), Anthony “Coach” LeBlanc (District D), and Stevie VanHook (District E) taking their oaths of office before a room full of supporters.

Armentor, Myers, LeBlanc and VanHook all retained their seats, while the city council welcomed newcomer Simon to her first official meeting. Simon earned 52 percent of the votes in the October election to unseat incumbent Rogeous “Randy” Lawdins. Meanwhile, LeBlanc claimed 53 percent of the votes in a runoff election to top challenger Janet Jones.
