Suspect gets 15 years for aggravated incest

A Jennings man was sentenced to serve 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated incest in 31st Judicial District Court recently.

Miguel Encinas was sentenced by the court to 20 years at hard labor with the Department of Corrections, with all but 15 years suspended as a result of his plea. Upon release, the defendant will be placed on supervised probation for a period of five  years, with special conditions of probation to include that he pay a fine of $1,500 plus court costs; pay $100 to the Jefferson Davis Parish District Attorney reimbursement fund; pay $40 to the indigent defender reimbursement fund; pay a $750 crime lab fee; register as a sex offender for life; attend and complete  counseling; have no contact with the victim; and pay $50 per month supervised probation fee.
