Ella Marie Spell
The family and friends of Ella Marie Spell are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on Jan. 5, 2014, at the age of 59.
Funeral services were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home today, Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. Burial followed in Mermentau Cemetery. Visitation was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Monday, Jan. 6 from 3-9 p.m. with a rosary recited 6 p.m. Visitation resumed today, Tuesday, at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral services.
Ella Marie was born in Lafayette to the late Ella Marie LeBlanc Trumps and the late George Trumps on Nov. 21, 1954. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was the operator of Marie’s Lounge in Jennings for some time. She enjoyed visiting with friends and drinking coffee.
Marie is survived by her three sons, Lionel LeJeune Jr. (fiancée Kay John) of Elton, Bryan “Happy” Newman and Travis Joseph Newman, both of Jennings; two daughters, Belinda Kratzer (Hilton Langley) and Julla Marie (Benny) Shuff, both of Elton; three brothers, Vallarien Trumps of Crowley, Ray Trumps, also of Crowley and George Trumps Jr. of Maxie; two sisters, Mary Thibodeaux of Estherwood and Mable Aillet of Alexandria; and eight grandchildren
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ella Marie Trumps; her husband, Clifford Newman; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Carrying Marie to her final resting place were Benny Shuff, Travis Newman, Lionel LeJeune Jr., Belinda Kratzer, Allen LeJeune, Hilton Langley and Gerald Hebert
