State doing away with GED test

For over 70 years, the General Educational Development (GED) test has been the diploma alternative for those unable to finish high school due to circumstances or disabilities. To the thousands of Louisiana residents who have passed it, the GED has resulted in better consideration for jobs, military service, and admittance to college.
