Jennings Elementary hosted its fourth annual Sixth Grade Career Day last week. School Counselor Stephanie Reed said the day serves to introduce the career force to students so they can make better informed decisions for the five-year plan for high school and beyond. Students spoke to career professionals involved in military service, accounting, ministry, biology, natural fuels, medical services, law enforcement and emergency services. Local officials who also spoke about their careers included Jeff Davis District Attorney Michael Cassidy, parish Tax Assessor Donald Kratzer, Sen. Dan “Blade” Morrish, Jennings City Judge Daniel Stretcher and Rep. Johnny Guinn.
