Rebecca Clement Cart
The family and friends of Rebecca Clement Cart are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at the age of 74.
A Mass of Christian burial honoring her life will be held at St. Jules Catholic Church in Tee-Mamou on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at 2 p.m. with Reverend David Broussard officiating. Burial will follow in Tee-Mamou Cemetery under the direction of Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of her funeral Mass at 2 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 11 a.m. by the Knights of Columbus members.
Rebecca was born in Iota to the late William and Ella Mae Trumps Clement on Jan. 31, 1940. She was a homemaker. Rebecca was a member of St. Jules Catholic Church as well as a CCD coordinator. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and a Girl Scout Leader. Known to her family and friends as Mrs. Becky, she was a joy to be around. She never met a stranger and loved visiting with people. Rebecca loved her family with all she had. Her presence in all of their lives will never be forgotten.
Rebecca is survived by her son, Victor (Pamela) Cart of Longview, Texas; her daughters, Jolain C. (Jimmie) Miller of Tee-Mamou; Deanna C. (David) McIntyre of Magnolia, Texas, Gwendolyn C. (Robert) Deshotel of Ville Platte and Jennifer Cart of Tee-Mamou; and one brother, Fredrick (Nettie) Clement of Tee-Mamou. Rebecca also leaves behind to cherish her memories, 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren, Victor (Karen) Cart II and their children, Ty, Owen and Noa Grace Cart; Leah C. (Derrick) Lopez and their children, Valerie Kate and Duke Ryan Lopez; Aimee Miller (fiance’, “Trey” Cunningham) and their child, Adell Cunningham; Megan (BJ) Gott and their children, Madeline, Brennon and William Gott; Remi John (Amber) Miller and their children, Milynn Miller and Elianna Miller; Matthew Miller, Erin Veronie, Laurie Deshotel, Haley Deshotel, Kelli Deshotel and Sage Cart.
Rebecca now rests in Heaven with her parents, William and Ella Clement; her beloved husband, Burley John “Shine” Cart; a grandson, Ryan Cart; and one sister, Cynthia Clement.
Carrying Rebecca to her eternal resting place will be Victor Cart II, Remi Miller, Matthew Miller, Jimmie Miller, David McIntyre and Robert Deshotel.
