Richard Ingalls, 64, of Lake Charles, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, in his residence.
His memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014, from 9 a.m. until the time of services at Miguez Funeral Home. Burial of cremains will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Jennings.
Mr. Ingalls was born on May 17, 1949, in Jennings, to Aubrey and Louise Ingalls. He graduated from USL with a degree in Business Administration in 1974.
Mr. Ingalls was a graduate of Jennings High School, Class of 1967. He enjoyed officiating high school football games, soccer games and Little League baseball games. He loved playing golf and being a golf marshal. Mr. Ingalls was a highly decorated veteran, he received a Bronze Air Medal on May 21, 1969, a Silver Star on April 28, 1969, and a Purple Heart on May 13, 1969. Mr. Ingalls served in the Army in Vietnam as Sergeant from 1967 until November 30, 1970.
Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Julie Boudreaux Ingalls; three children, Richard Seth Ingalls of Lafayette, Kristen (Michael Poast) Ingalls of Cincinatti, Ohio, and Kathleen Ingalls of Lake Charles; his grandchildren, Griffin and Olivia Poast and Greta Ingalls; two brothers, Gerald Ingalls of Huntsville, N.C., and Eugene Ingalls of Wimberely, Texas; and his loving mother-in-law, Yvonne Rogers Clay.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Junior Golf Association.
