James Edward LeJeune
Funeral services for Mr. James Edward (Grumpy) LeJeune Sr., 68, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, in Miguez Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Brian Wells officiating.
Burial will be in Lopez Cemetery.
Funeral home visitation will be from 4:30 -10 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 4, 2014, and will resume at 8 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services.
Mr. LeJeune died on Monday, March 3, 2014, in West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital in Sulphur.
Mr. LeJeune was a lifelong resident of Jennings and he served in the National Guard. He was a retired sheriff’s deputy for Jefferson Davis Parish. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He loved fishing, baseball, watching westerns and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Gary LeJeune of Jennings; two daughters, Melinie (Wade) Loewer of Jennings and Shelly Ashford of Jennings; one son, James “Garb” LeJeune Jr. of Jennings; one sister, Margie Reeves of Sulphur; three brothers, Daniel (Darline) LeJeune of Lacassine, Tony (Denise) LeJeune of Welsh, David (Kay) LeJeune of Lake Charles; and 10 grandchildren, T.J., Allison, Jeffery, Christopher, Sara, Zachary, Jarred, Ronnie, Joshua and Annie.
Mr. LeJeune was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Mercedes Landry LeJeune.
Pallbearers will be Wade Loewer, Christopher Loewer, T.J. Chaisson, Jeffery Trahan, Jarred LeJeune, Ronnie Ashford, Thomas Deshotel and Joe Mallett.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Ashford, Zachary LeJeune, Spencer Stelly, Jance Prejean, Jonathan Rougeau and Dan LeJeune.
