Judith Lynn Diedrich
In the early morning of March 14, 2014, Judith Lynn “Judy” Diedrich passed away at Christus St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles due to complications from a recent illness. Born Dec. 20, 1948, Judy was 65 years old.
A memorial service will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 2 p.m.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. followed by a Rosary at 10 a.m.
Judy was a lifelong resident of Welsh, graduating from Welsh High School in1966. Her careers ranged from banking and insurance to painting. Her creative endeavors included home restoration, crocheting and cooking. People in the community will remember her for her signature baby blankets and popcorn balls. She had lots of friends of all ages and always saw the good in everyone. Judy was always willing to help people in the community. As an organ donor, she continues to help others today. Also, no one can think of Judy without thinking of the kindness and compassion she showed towards animals.
She is survived by her sisters, Cheryl Abshire and Cindy Diedrich, both of Welsh, and Kay Ponder of Jennings; and all of their children and grandchildren. She is also survived by her cousins, Brenda Daniel of Welsh and Mike Walker of Jennings; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved pets, Joe the dog and Annie the cat.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd H. Diedrich and Margie Nell Diedrich; and her nephew, Daniel Edward “Danny” Hicks.
