Instead of cheering, “Throw me something, Mistah!” to Mardi Gras revelers, locals yelled, “Enough, already!” to Mother Nature today, as morning hours in Jeff Davis Parish brought below freezing temps, freezing rain and ice just in time for Fat Tuesday. In fact, the Iota-Tee Mamou celebrations in Acadia Parish had to be cancelled due to the weather. Temps today are forecasted by the National Weather Service to be at a high of 36 and a low of 30, with chances of rain continuing through the night. Ash Wednesday will be cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain with low temps of 40 and a high of 52. The sun will rise again on Thursday, though, with partly sunny weather bringing a high of 56.
