Albert Burton Richard Sr.
Albert Burton Richard Sr., of Crowley, passed from this life on April 30, 2014, at the age of 81.
Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at 10 a.m. with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family requests visitation be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home today, Friday, May 2, 2014, from 4:30-9 p.m. Visitation will resume at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014, until the time of his funeral services at 10 a.m.
Albert was born in Lacassine to the late Wilfred Richard and the late Celine Manuel Richard on March 5, 1933. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He then came home, where he retired as a farmer. He was a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Albert is survived by two sons, Albert “Tee” Richard Jr. of Sulphur and Philip Richard of Lake Arthur; and one daughter, Donna (Ronnie) Levy of Crowley. Albert also leaves behind four grandchildren, Kayla (Ross) Bruchhaus, Rick Levy, Scott (Brittany) Richard and Kaitlyn Richard; and three great-grandchildren, Ramsey, Gunner and Maxton Bruchhaus.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Celine Richard; his beloved wife, Erlene Miller Richard; three grandchildren, Ron Levy III, Aaron Richard and Catherine Richard; and two sisters, Mercedes Richard Aucoin and Thelma Richard Waller.
Carrying Albert to his eternal resting place will be Rick Levy, Ronnie Levy, Scott Richard, Ross Bruchhaus, Glen Hetzel and Mark Waller.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Hebert and Roger Miller Sr.
