State Champ

Lacassine’s Chase Guillory was crowned the state champion in the triple jump with a mark of 44-5, and then added two bronze medals to his trophy case with third place finishes in the long jump (20-0) and high jump (6-0). The Cardinals and Lady Cardinals saw several top state finishers, as did the Midland and Hathaway track teams. See Sunday’s edition for complete results from the Class B LHSAA Championships at LSU Bernie Moore Stadium in Baton Rouge, as well as results from today’s Class 1A and 2A state meets. Sports fans are also encouraged to submit their state track meet photos to jdne...@bellsouth.net for possible publication.
