Ducks, eggs being harmed at park

By AUBREY BROUSSARD

Daily News Staff Writer

The Louisiana Oil and Gas Park in Jennings has always been a safe haven for the ducks that have made park grounds their home. But recently their safety has been threatened. For the past two weeks, Jeff Davis Tourist Commission Marketing Director Dione Sabelhaus  and park staff have been finding dead ducks in and around the park.  Nests have been disturbed and duck eggs destroyed. A total of seven ducks have been found dead. Five were on the service road near the interstate and two were found in the park on the roadway.
